Mixin’ With Blitzen Trapper
Filed under: Mixin' With Series,Mixtapes | Posted by:

Lead singer/guitarist Eric Earley of Blitzen Trapper sat down and gave us his Top Ten Songs To Herald In The Apocalypse. He noted that these songs might make for an “extremely, unpleasantly bizarre mixtape”, adding that “perhaps that’s appropriate.” I agree. How else would you herald in hell and fury? With Josh Groban? I think not. Gimme some Iggy Pop, MIA, Metallica and bring it on! Blitzen Trapper have just started a big two month tour that will take them all across the US and Canada with the likes of Fleet Foxes, Menomena, Beach House and even Dr. Dog! They will be playing at the Troubadour this Friday with Fleet Foxes and you can bet on seeing us there.

Top 10 Songs To Herald In The Apocalypse By E. Earley of Blitzen Trapper:

1. Cat Stevens- Trouble
Love it, the song, not trouble, usually trying to stay out of it.

2. Bob Dylan- Tombstone Blues
Cause daddy’s in the alley and he’s looking for food.

3. Cat Power- The Greatest
When u got nowhere else to go but up.

4. Neil Young- After the Goldrush
Perfect for when you’re lying in that burned out basement.

5. Fela Kuti- Original Suffer Head
For the inevitable suffering which goes without saying.

6. MIA- World Town
For when that’s all that’s left, just a few towns and some cows. Cowtowns.

7. Rolling Stones- Wild Horses
I say let the horses run free, and when the oil’s all gone we can re-catch them and ride them to the grocery store.

8. Metallica- Enter Sandman
For all you sleepwalkers out there in the western world.

9. Nick Drake- Pink Moob
Good choice for last song you ever hear on the radio as the grid goes dead. Not that it ever gets played on the radio.

10. The Stooges- Gimme Danger
‘Nough said.
