Blog Love: Wolfgang’s Vault
Filed under: Blog Love | Posted by: jody

Bored LA recently turned me on the amazing site that is Wolfgang’s Vault. The Vault contains thousands of live performances and interviews from the 1960s to today. All you have to do is sign up for a free account and then all of the concerts in the Concert Vault are yours to stream online. Some of the concerts are even available for free download, while others are available to download for a small price (though streaming is always free). Wolfgang’s Vault, which owns all of the original Bill Graham Presents archives, also has an exhaustive collection of concert memorabilia for sale, including an original “The Last Waltz” poster and a Crosby, Stills and Nash vintage tshirt from their 1982 tour, both from Bill Graham’s personal collection. This site is definitely worth an hour or two (or 10 ) of your time.
A small sampling of the concerts available for free streaming:
Booker T. & The MG’s live in 1968- Winterland
Everly Brothers live at the Filmore West- 1969
Flying Burrito Brothers at Ellis Auditorium- 1970
Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Filmore East- 1970
The Byrds at Filmore West- 1970
Rolling Stones at Foret Nationale- 1973
Allman Brothers Band at Cow Palace- 1973
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen at Academy of Music- 1973
Van Morrison at Winterland- 1974

Really? This has been around for a long time. I remember when Good Morning on CBS did a story about it.
Comment by Me 02.11.09 @ 9:02 pmIt has been around for a while. I remember stumbling onto it about two years ago–but completely forgot about it until I saw Bored LA’s mention- and it was like rediscovering a long lost…treasure trove.
so- I suppose I should have said :
“Bored LA recently re- turned me on the amazing site that is Wolfgang’s Vault.”
There is a really cool Iphone app for this. It lets you listen to all the concerts anywhere. Pretty cool.
