Scott Walker’s ’30th Century Man’ in Los Angeles
Filed under: News,Tonight in LA | Posted by: jody
After engagements in Europe and at various films festivals including SXSW and Tribeca, Stephen Kijak’s Scott Walker: 30 Century Man is finally making it’s way to Los Angeles for a one week stint beginning tomorrow, February 27th at Landmark’s Nuart Theatre. The film focuses on Scott Walker’s lifetime career in music: from his time in the immensely successful Walker Brothers in the 1960s and his innovative and elusive solo career following, right up to a recording session for his most recent record, 2006’s The Drift. In addition to Walker himself, the film boasts interviews with David Bowie, Radiohead, Jarvis Cocker, Brian Eno, Damon Albarn, Marc Almond, Alison Goldfrapp, Sting, Dot Allison, Simon Raymonde, Richard Hawley, Rob Ellis, Johnny Marr, Gavin Friday, Lulu and others. David Bowie, who claims Walker as a major influence, even served as executive producer of the film.
Director Stephen Kijak will be at the Nuart Theatre in person at the 7:30 pm screenings on Friday and Saturday night. There is also an Opening Night Cocktail Party on Friday night at Liquid Kitty where you will have the chance to snag free cds, posters and movie tickets. Details on the party are after the jump.
