The night was a pleasant surprise on so many levels. I went to experience the magic that is Akron Family but left the show with a greater understanding of the foundation which folk music was built upon. Great meeting you Jody.

My memory goes back to when a 12 year old kid told me that his guitar was going to be his life. Teachers remember these thing. How did we all get old. It is, though better than the alternative.

I was there and what a great night of music! Chris’s son Steven and his band rocked McCabe’s with their metal versions of Darrow’s songs. Chris’s 2 song set was way to short but we did see him team up with Ben on “Whipping Boy” and again with the Akron Family. Kudos to McCabes’s, Everloving Records and “JP” for putting on such special evening of music. Chris Darrow is a treasure and I hope we get to hear and see more of him in the coming year.

Thanks for posting these pix from the show. I am grateful to all who attended my night of tribute. It was an overwhelming experience and one I will never forget. Thanks to all who showed up.
