Filed under: Tonight in LA | Posted by:

The Cinefamily is in the midst of presenting a brilliant film series, F is For Folk, every Thursday this May/June at the Silent Movie Theatre. On the bill for tonight is a screening of Sandy Bull: No Deposit No Return Blues, a film about the innovative American folk musician. They’ll also be screening rare footage of UK folk guitar heroes Bert Jansch (who’s playing at Largo on July 8th), Ralph McTell, Jan Akkerman and Stefan Grossman. The night will then be capped off with a performance by LA’s very own Guy Blakslee of the Entrance Band. Tickets are $12. Other upcoming Cinefamily screenings of particular When You Awake interest: Earl Scruggs: His Family and Friends on June 19th and Celebration at Big Sur on June 25th.
