This edition of our Twang Series is dedicated to the great Leon Russell. Leon is, for all intensive purposes, the man. In addition to being an accomplished songwriter, he also appeared as a session musician on records by George Harrison, Eric Clapton, The Beach Boys, The Band, JJ Cale, The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Badfinger and the list goes on. This mix features covers of Russell-penned tunes by the likes of Richie Havens, Willie Nelson, Delaney & Bonnie, BB King and others. Who should we feature next in our Twang Series? Leon Russell, is one of the greatest musicians be it rock, blues, country,jazz or pop, he’s done it all.Saw him a few weeks ago.He and his band were so tight and he comands the stage.I took a group young folks, they loved him. His t-shirts are in big demand all round town. Keep kickin it LEON.

I had the pleasure of opening up for Leon a few years ago in San Diego and he was amazing. I’m originally from his hometown of Tulsa, so it was double sweet for me, opening for my hometown legend. He’s one of those guys that people don’t think they know until they listen and realize they know everything he ever did. THANKS
