The Everly Brothers – Gone Gone Gone
The Everly Brothers performing their tune “Gone Gone Gone” in 1964. Anyone else find those dancing girls completely distracting and irrelevant? Why did the old variety shows have them again?

Stuck in the Past is an mp3 blog that features full album downloads of classic, hard to find records by the likes of the International Submarine Band, Gene Clark, Peter Green, Bobby Whitlock, Delaney and Bonnie, Neil Young and more. Definitely worth checking out.
Derek and the Dominos- It’s Too Late/Matchbox
Derek and the Dominos (featuring singer/guitarist Eric Clapton, keyboardist Bobby Whitlock, bassist Carl Radle and drummer Jim Gordon) sing “It’s Too Late” live on the Johnny Cash Show on November 5, 1970. Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins join them on stage at the 5:18 mark to sing Perkins’ tune “Matchbox.”

I met up with Nashville (via New York)-based musician Reno Bo last week in Tennessee for a special Southern edition of our Garden Party series. Reno, who has spent time in the Mooney Suzuki and Albert Hammond Jr,’s band, played a couple of tunes from his latest release Happenings And Other Things (out now via Electric Western), including “Baby, You’re Not Feelin’ Me Tonight”, “I See Stars” and “I Just Don’t Know Where I Stand Anymore” as well as covers of George Harrison’s “Id Have You Anytime” and Crosby, Stills and Nash’s “Helplessly Hoping.” Reno’s about to finish up a month- long residency at the 5 Spot in Nashville. If you are town, definitely head over this Tuesday, September 29th for the final night featuring Reno with his full band and other local acts. More videos are after the jump.

We have teamed up with our friends over at Arthur Magazine to present week three of Leslie and the Badger’s month long residency at the Echo. Doug Paisley, Amanda Jo Williams and the Street and Babe Shadow (Luke from Hot Hot Heat’s band) will join the Badger’s tonight. I will also be DJing between sets so if you make it out (and you really should), come up and say hello. Next Monday, our co-presenter is LA Record with featured acts Paperplanes, Best Coast and The Sian Alice Group.
