In Living Color: Steve Young and I See Hawks in LA
Filed under: In Living Color | Posted by: jody
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cinefamily Country Christmas party last week. We screened my favorite music documentary, Heartworn Highways, and had live performances by LA country staples I See Hawks in LA and Steve Young, who appears in the film and wrote country classics like “Lonesome, On’ry and Mean” and “Seven Bridges Road.” To watch a video of Steve Young performing his tune “White Trash Song” from that evening, click here. You can also check out more pictures, taken by India Brookover, after the jump.

I was gutted when I saw notice for this show in the LA Weekly the day after it happened. Having seen Steve Young play live, I’m convinced his gifts as a singer and picker have only grown over the years. Of all the great country talents, his efforts could be the most overlooked.
