For the latest edition of our Twang Series, I chose to pay tribute to The Boss. The mix features covers of Springsteen-penned tunes by the likes of The Band, Johnny Cash, The Avett Brothers and Townes Van Zandt to name a few. Who should we feature next in our Twang Series? Let us know in the comments after the jump.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cinefamily Country Christmas party last week. We screened my favorite music documentary, Heartworn Highways, and had live performances by LA country staples I See Hawks in LA and Steve Young, who appears in the film and wrote country classics like “Lonesome, On’ry and Mean” and “Seven Bridges Road.” To watch a video of Steve Young performing his tune “White Trash Song” from that evening, click here. You can also check out more pictures, taken by India Brookover, after the jump.

Sam Quinn, currently of Sam Quinn and the Japan 10 and ex- Everybodyfields, has just sent us 4 original drawings that we have added to our new online alterna-merch store, Sake of the Song. He is selling the drawings for only $20 a pop. That’s a steal for original artwork, especially by someone as talented as Mr. Quinn. Click here to see the drawings. Also, last week a reader asked if Sam did all of the Everybodyfield’s artwork. The answer is yes. He did all of their artwork, we well as the artwork for his new record which will be released in the coming months via Ramseur Records.
