This was one of the first country songs I learned to play back in the early 70s, sped on by John Fogerty’s Blue Ridge Ranger version. Back then you could go to a Woolworth’s or WT Grant’s department store and find bins of cutout LPs at 4 for $2.00 (more or less). When I ‘discovered’ I could play country I set out to buy anything i could find and there was plenty of George out there,,,all his Starday, Mercury and Nusicor sides were remaindered up here in Upstate New York and boy did I search them out and collect them.
