YouTube Preview ImageChristopher Denny- Westbound Train

Christopher Denny & The Old Soles live at Niagara in New York City on February 2, 2007. I stumbled onto Denny during SXSW. I was chatting with a friend at the bar waiting for Paleface to start when I heard his music drifting through the doorway. I instantly put down my can of Lone Star and ran over to see what kind of person was capable of expressing that kind of beauty with a voice that I can only describe as otherworldly. Despite the frequent comparisons to Antony (of Antony and the Johnsons), Denny is one of the most unique and inventive singers I’ve heard in a very long time and I am oh so happy that he chose roots-influenced music as his outlet. We got us a good one!
