YouTube Preview ImageStornoway – ‘Zorbing’

Here’s the Oxford, UK band Stornoway with the tune “Zorbing” from their just released debut album Beachcomber’s Windowsill (out now via 4AD).  I wasn’t quite sure what to think when the song started, but when the surprising background vocals came in at the :34 second mark, I was sold. Add to that some masterful trumpeting and this is definitely a band worth keeping an eye on.

Aw,I definitely need to comment on this one!I live in the town of Stornoway on The Isle of Lewis, off the north-west coast of Scotland…the town Stornoway took their name from…they played here a couple of months ago and it was one of the best gigs I’ve seen in 40 years of gig-going…they played in a place called The Woodlands Centre which I bet you guys would love if you experienced it…and they personally handed out drams of whisky to the whole audience before the encores…a very special band and my new favourite band…do not miss this one, folks…

I’ve had their cd for a couple of weeks now and am completely in love with it. One of the best new bands/records of 2010!
