The 10th Annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival Begins This Weekend
Filed under: News | Posted by:

This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, which is held each year in the Lindley & Marx meadows in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA.  The annual free music festival begins this Friday, Oct. 1st (2pm – 7pm), continues on Saturday, Oct. 2nd (11am – 7pm), and finishes up on Sunday, Oct. 3rd (11am – 7pm). “Doors” open at 10 am. It’ll be a hot one this weekend — free water will be available at the drinking fountain near the Rock Med tent (between Banjo and Arrow stages) — but it’ll also be very cool in the evenings when that famous San Francisco fog rolls in, so be sure to bring a jacket and a scarf too! Check out our festival picks after the jump.

Friday: Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys (Banjo, 4:05 p.m. Friday),  T Bone Burnett featuring Punch Brothers and Karen Elson and the Secret Sisters (Rooster, 5:45 p.m. Friday),  The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue featuring Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs (Banjo, 5:45 p.m. Friday)

This is the BEST line up I’ve seen since Woodstock 1969 and I’ve been to quite a few festivals since then. I am SO jealous and wish I had the scratch to make the trip and see this show which will no doubt be remarkable. WOW!
