Townes Van Zandt’s ‘Seven Come Eleven’ Demos

In 1972, Townes Van Zandt recorded tracks for an album entitled Seven Come Eleven that was later aborted due to a payment disagreement between Van Zandt’s manager Kevin Eggers and producer Jack Clement. Before Clement could store the tapes, Eggers snuck into the studio and recorded rough mixes of the songs onto a cassette tape. Check out those original tracks, which were later completed and released as The Nashville Sessions in 1993, here. For a taste, check out “No Place To Fall” below:
