The guys over at Sartorially Inclined have done some of the leg-work for the boys and found a great new fall option for men who don’t want to look like they’re wearing a parachute. Brooks Brothers have released a line of Extra-Slim Fit shirts in some of their classic styles that favor men with broad shoulders and/or thinner waists. Though they don’t run super cheap ($69.50 for any of the shirts pictured above), they just might be worth a look. We recommend the Extra-Slim Fit Sport Shirts (which you can check out here), but they also offer the Extra-Slim Fit in their more traditional Dress Shirts section (here).

Silverlake based Enid and Edgar bring choice vintage goods to both their Hoover Street boutique (510 1/2 North Hoover Street) and online at Etsy.com. Fashion website Refinery 29 said it best when they claimed “Enid and Edgar is the perfect place to indulge your inner Lady of the Canyon.” The looks above are the way to beat the heat and transition into fall. Stop by their stores before these one of a kind gems sell out!

Ok, I’ll confess, I’m a mall shopper. Don’t get me wrong, I love vintage, the history, mystery and providence of it all; but sometimes I just want to go to the biggest mall I can find, wait 20 minutes to find parking, and go at it with thousands of other hungry consumers like myself.

Today’s mall find? This amazing ethnic printed halter dress from the fine people at Free People (yes, the same folks who brought you Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie). Sexier than that vintage find, this dress would look amazing with a pair of boots and a denim jacket. Take off the jacket and show some skin when things are hot, and about to get even hotter. So put this on and hope that summer never ends.

Los Angeles based LAS is a jewelry line brought to you by husband and wife team Daniel and Lisa Soltis. Both artists, Daniel a 3-D artist, Lisa a 2-D one, they use their combined talents to create anything they conceptualize. Their recent series of rings, charms and necklaces pay tribute to sabre-toothed tigers of times past, longhorns, wolves, ravens and more.

I first discovered their line of bold beautiful rings while cruising the Oak website not too long ago, and with some luck, stumbled upon Daniel and Lisa themselves hawking their rings at an event at Urban Outfitter’s Space15Twenty for half the price not too long afterward. Never one to turn down a good deal, I snagged my Longhorn Ring on the spot and have not stopped receiving compliments on it since.

You can find their rings, necklaces, and more at boutiques in LA, NYC, and SF or you can pick some up from their online shop.

Urban Outfitters is currently selling a beautiful collection of Pendleton products, including bags, wallets, towels and blankets. The line is quite pricey, but if you don’t mind spending $48 on a bath towel, this is definitely the place to go. Click here to check out the goods. Thanks to reader Sandra Manning for the tip!

We stopped by Lucy Finch in Eagle Rock over the weekend after hitting up Auntie Em’s for brunch (best red velvet cupcakes in the city, hands down). The store is located at 5054 Eagle Rock Blvd and is situated smack dab in the middle of a strip of stores that I usually overlook on my way from Auntie Em’s to Swork Coffee. I shall overlook that strip no longer! Not only do they have a nice selection of boots and really sweet vintage dresses for reasonable prices, but you’ll also find friendly store clerks there who will happily assist you in assembling a ready to wear ensemble. Check out more When You Awake approved finds after the jump.

We met David at the Justin Townes Earle at the Echo a couple of weeks back and after hearing about his store, vowed to go and check it out. Hung On You basically fits the When You Awake aesthetic to a tee. The store is located at 4009 W. Sunset Blvd at Sunset Junction (next to Tsunami Coffee Shop) and for a store of it’s type, boasts extremely reasonable prices for it’s beautiful and hand picked inventory. Vintage dresses in perfect condition ranged from around $30 up, jeans from $25 up and shirts from $15 up. I asked David where he gets the best pieces and his answer: from his friend’s closets. Let’s just say we should all have more friends like David’s. Check out more pics from Hung On You after the jump.
