We’ve scoured Etsy to bring you some of the best style finds out there right now for the menfolk. First up, we have this vintage wool coat with faux fur lining for $399.99. It reminds me slightly of this picture of the Avett Brothers and let’s be honest here: any clothing you can wear that will remind the ladies of the Avetts is not an opportunity to be taken lightly.
Next up, we have this vintage 1980s striped Oxford blue and grey shirt for $28. Smart. Simple. Enough said.
Lastly, we have this Bowery Lane Bicycles Broncks Black bike for $595.00. The bike is handmade in New York City with American steel and a limited edition leather saddle, sustainable cork handles, chain guard, fenders, kick stand, rear rack, hand brazed brass joints and a hand crafted wooden crate. Definitely something to be seen riding around town on.
Daily Memorandum, “an intellectual’s Americana”, is an Etsy store out of Philadelphia after When You Awake’s own vintage heart. They offer a wide selection of antique furnishings (dressers, tables, chairs), accessories (old radios, shaving kits) and more. Here are three of our favorite pieces that are currently up for grabs. First up, we have this Industrial Draftsman Workbench Table for $650. It is a handmade shop table, complete with hooks, hangers, shelves and finished with black trim.
Next up, we have this Wool Indian Trade Blanket, circa late 1940s-1950s, for $45.
Lastly, we have this P & R Railroad Hardware Medicine Cabinet for $275. It’s an early 20th century primitive handmade cabinet with three levels inside, hinged door, and hand painted inscription “Ea.M. Miller & Sons, Lebanon PA, P+R” on front. The P+R is most likely referring to the P & R or Philadelphia and Reading Railroad station in Lebanon, PA. (Thanks to Teenangster for the head’s up on the Daily Memorandum).
Billy Reid, the fine purveyor of “low-fi Southern-bred luxury” who lives in Florence, AL, has created a T-shirt to benefit disaster relief in Alabama after tornadoes devastated the region. The shirt is $38 at Billy Reid boutiques and on the designer’s website with all proceeds going towards the Red Cross Tornado Disaster Relief Fund.
The Dude Abides. And so does his sweater for a cool $4,000-$6,000 at a Hollywood memorabilia auction set to take place this weekend, May 14 and May 15 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills. If all you have is a pile of dirty undies (the whites) instead of a pile of cash just chill the F*@k out, man. There are a lot of ins and outs and the ol’ Duderino has it covered, man. Well, Pendleton Woolen Mills does at least. They will be releasing a remake “Dude Cardigan” for $188 this September.
You can’t technically wear it, but it’ll make you look damn good. The late, great Steve McQueen’s ‘71 Husqvarna is up on the auction block and is set to sell for anywhere between $50,000 -$70,000.
While it may not be the one he rode in On Any Sunday, the thought of your butt sitting where McQueen’s once was (if you are anything like me) is well worth the cool $50k. Check out more about the bike and the auction here.
After two years in the making, Pladra has finally launched their website. Specialized in producing durable, functional and stylish flannel shirts for passionate outdoorsmen. The designers claim they had “never found a flannel that [they] could wear both in the field and to the bar after getting blood on it This is the foundation and inspiration behind Pladra: making a high quality, field-ready flannel with a unique sense of style.”
The designs are clean and classic, but have several whimsical details that make the tees stand out from traditional flannel. Not only do they match up plaid lines and use custom buttons, they also use outdoor scene liners on the cuffs, collar and back yoke. Some styles also feature faux-suede elbow patches for all you vegans out there (outdoorsmen vegans who get blood on their shirts, now I’m confused). And best of all, all shirts are made in the U.S. of A. You can find Pladra shirts online for now, I’m sure they’ll be sold a store near you soon. More photos are after the jump.
Well apparently I still have wallets and Wes Lang on the mind….Fortunately Repop Mfg help take care of both these obsessions in one swoop. The Wes Lang wallet, which retails at $125, is a billfold cut from vegetable tanned leather. They are dyed, waxed & edged by hand in California with each wallet sporting an individual edition number (there are only 100 of these wallets in existence!). More photos are after the jump.

Turns out our favorite marathon-running, roller-blading, motorcycle-riding songwriter (who’s currently touring the USA alongside Middle Brother), can add leather-worker to his list of many talents. Ranging from dog collars to guitar straps, Jonny Corndawg‘s leather work offers something for everyone, whether it’s avocados, dogs, or walruses that you are after. All pieces are custom and handmade, and un-like most things these days, they definitely look much better with age. You can contact Jonny directly for more info. More example of his work, including a photo of Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes sporting a Corndawg guitar strap, are after the jump.
